明るい夜明けへの予感。
人新世（ひとしんせい）と呼ばれる現代、地球温暖
化による豪雨や海洋プラスチック問題など、私たち
は地球環境の急変に直面しています。本作品はそん
な現代を舞台にしています。
作中を泳ぐスナメリたち（イルカの一種）は、私た
ちを運んで現代から未来へと泳ぐ「生命の方舟」で
す。彼らの航海の先にはどのような夜明けが待って
いるのでしょうか？ 金色に輝く灯台の光、虹色の帯
を引きながら駆け抜ける船、それらは希望を予感さ
せています。
作品は、モデリングペーストや砂によって、大地の
ざらざらとした質感を表現しています。スナメリの
造形では、隆起した大地のイメージで半立体的に作
っています。
■木白枚プロフィール
獣医学科を卒業後、鯨類調査員を経て作家となる。アクリル画材を中心としたミクストメディア作品を制作する。
自然をテーマとし、主なモチーフは鯨類、地図、細胞。

A premonition of a bright dawn.
In the present age, known as the Anthropocene, we
are facing rapid changes in the Earth’s
environment, such as torrential rains caused by
global warming and the problem of marine plastic
pollution. This work is set against the backdrop of
such a modern world.
The finless porpoises (a type of dolphin) swimming
within the work are visualizations of the biological
principle of “cell → individual → society,” and
they also serve as an “ark of life” swimming from
the present to the future. What kind of dawn awaits
them at the end of their journey?
The work uses modeling paste and sand to express
the rough, gritty texture of the earth. The snub
nosed dolphins are rendered in a semi-three
dimensional style, evoking the image of a rugged,
undulating landscape.
