ドローイング作品です。仏教絵画などにしばしば対
で描かれる日輪と月輪は、昼夜ひいては歳月を表し、
絵画世界の永遠性を示します。シャチが背負う点滅
する灯台は、誕生と死を繰り返しながら、悠久の時
の海を泳いでいく生命の営みを表現しています。
■木白枚プロフィール
獣医学科を卒業後、鯨類調査員を経て作家となる。アクリル画材を中心としたミクストメディア作品を制作する。
自然をテーマとし、主なモチーフは鯨類、地図、細胞。

This is a drawing. The sun and moon, often
depicted as a pair in Buddhist paintings and other
works, represent day and night—and by extension,
the passage of time—symbolizing the eternity of the
world of painting. The flashing lighthouse carried
on the back of the orca expresses the cycle of life
as it swims through the vast sea of time, repeating
the cycle of birth and death.
